Reviewing Barkhouse Beard Company’s products ( trust us you need to read this review)

On the reviewers block today we have Barkhouse Beard Company! Who sent us a nice little package, unfortunately as the reviewing team as based in the UK, this poor package suffered,  by the time it got to the reviewing team it had suffered a beating. Don’t worry though, although some of the product contents was lost there was plenty left behind to review.

Barkhouse Beard Company sent us two of their products to test, those being their Peppermint Premium Beard Shampoo and their Unscented Premium Beard Oil.

First up on the block is the beard oil.

Unscented Premium Beard Oil

This beard oil comes in a nice little pump bottle which is quite handy for accurate measurements, you may be thinking, but wait those bottles with pipettes or the ones that release drops based on your taps on the base are much more accurate.

Yes you are correct, but if you read the beard oil bottle provided by Barkhouse Beard Company you’ll find they give you detailed instructions on how to use their beard oil for the most effective results.

This beard oil is fragrance free, that’s right, it’s unscented. Why? because the creator was sick of having beard oils conflicting with his aftershave. Sir we salute you! There are many beard oils on the market each with their own unique scent, but it’s rare to see a beard oil, a flagship beard oil at that being unscented, allowing the wearers other scents to shine through.

The most important question is, how did the beard oil work, did my beard react happily or was it a bad time for my beard?

I can report that my beard loved this beard oil, it stayed soft and hydrated all day long, there was no greasiness. Ok so my beard loved it but what about my face? Was there any irritation and itchiness?

This is exactly why we take a week to test beard oils and balms, we are looking to see if our faces suffer any issues.Once again I am happy to report that this beard oil left my face completely free of any beard itchiness and there was zero irritation, this is thanks to a fantastic ingredients list.

Ingredients

  • Grape Seed (Vitis Vinifera) oil
  • Jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis ) oil
  • Sweet Almond (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis) Oil
  • Kukui Nut (Aleurites moluccanus) Oil

This is a fantastic beard oil which I can recommend you buy, not only does it care for your skin, your beard it noticeably softer and in my case it appeared to sit straighter, which was nice as my beard loves to have a wiggle to it.

The scent is also very refreshing, as such I highly recommend you buy this beard oil, your beard will fully appreciate it.

Peppermint Premium Beard Shampoo

When I first used this beard shampoo, I wasn’t impressed, there was no smell at all, and my beard didn’t feel that great afterwards. Now going back to the beard oil, specifically the part about reading the instructions.

This is incredibly important, the next time i was in the shower I wasn’t in a rush and took the time to read the bottle, where it clearly stated that before use to shake well.

Shake well I did! What a difference this made to this product, and wow this is a fantastic product. My beard lathered up incredibly well and shortly after there was this menthol cooling freshness on my face that I loved, and the scent.. Well as I said earlier the review team is based in the UK and we have a product over here called “Polos” is a round mint with a hole in the middle.

This beard shampoo smells exactly like Polo’s do, which is amazing, something I personally really like. Which is thanks to peppermint essential oil which makes up this beard shampoo.

Ingredients

  • Distilled Water (Aqua)
  • Glycerin
  • Olive (Olea Europaea) Oil
  • Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Oil
  • Potassium Hydroxide
  • Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit)
  • Sweet Almond (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis) Oil
  • Hemp Seed (Cannabis Sativa) Oil
  • Peppermint Essential (Mentha Piperita) Oil
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Propylene Glycol
  • Diazolidinyl Urea
  • Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate

After the shower my beard was soft and very clean. This remained the same after the next few washes, and my skin showed no issues.

Another thing I loved was the detail on the shampoo bottle, now as I said there were plenty of instructions on shaking well, but there was also advise as to how many times per week you should use this beard shampoo, which is 2-3 times a week. It’s fantastic to read that as that’s the exact same advice that I give, you don’t want to be washing your beard too often as it will remove your natural beard oils.

Conclusion

I loved these products from Barkhouse Beard Company, they both left my beard soft and healthy, and the scent is incredibly refreshing, I highly recommend you try these products out, you won’t regret it!
