Green sandalwood handmade EQLEF beard comb review

When it comes to your beard not just any comb will do so is the Green sandalwood handmade EQLEF Beard Comb up to scratch?

I like to keep myself looking clean and well kept like any gentleman sometimes though this is easier said than done, I don’t know about you but some days by beard has a mind of its own, I wake up, and I look like I’ve stuck my fingers in a plug socket! Even after having a shower It’s still not right. Individual hairs are breaking loose, attempting to fly away.

Well, this is where a beard combs really comes in, using some beard oil or beard balm, plus a decent beard comb. I can tame my unruly beard, control those fly-aways and look my best.

But any old comb isn’t good enough; you need a comb that can handle the fight a beard will put up, if you’ve used a cheap comb I’m sure you’ll have noticed that the combs teeth break off, your beard ends up full of static, and the experience itself is rather grueling.

Well, the EQLEF Handmade Pocket Comb changes all of that.

Things To Consider Before Buying A Beard Comb

As with all products on the market today, there are good ones, and there are bad ones, many of which fall somewhere in between. Of course, there are tons of different beard combs on the market today, and they all have slight differences.

That being said there are a number of things that you should consider or look out for when buying one. Considering some of the aspects of your next beard comb will make the difference between buying the ideal one and purchasing a comb that you are never really going to use. Here are some of the things you should definitely consider before buying your next beard comb:

  • Size

You will want to look at the size of your next beard comb. If you only use it at home you can afford to have one that is slightly larger, but if it is also to be used for traveling you may want to consider a slightly smaller one.

  • The Teeth

The teeth on a beard comb are very important, especially when it comes to their spacing. Fine teeth that are close together are ideal for straight beard hair that is short or medium in length and are also good for fine styling.

On the other hand, bigger teeth with more space in between them are ideal for rough, curly, and longer beards as well as getting rid of knots. Ideally, you can get a beard comb that is double sided and features both fine and larger teeth.

  • The Material

The material which the beard comb is made of can make all of the difference. Wood is good because it is natural, reduces static, spreads around moisture, and stops your hair from snagging.

On the other hand, wood, especially the finer combs will tend to break more easily than the plastic version, plus they are more expensive than plastic as well.

This is one of my favorite beard combs out there at this very moment because it just speaks to me.

The EQLEF Pocket Beard Comb has a good size to it; not too big and not too small which makes it great for at home use and for traveling.

It is made out of 100 percent Sandalwood which is pretty cool because it makes it both an effective beard comb and a good looking item too.

It looks natural, and it’s handmade design definitely speaks to its high quality.

Thanks to the wood the color of each comb may be slightly different, anywhere from light or dark green all the way to brown, but that’s no matter to me as long as it works.

I really like this comb because unlike most other models this one is double sided and is thus ideal for all types of hair and beard lengths too.

It comes with standard size and spaced teeth which are good for coarse beards as well as a side of fine teeth which are great for straighter beards and for styling.

The EQLEF works really well for me because it helps to spread around moisture and keep my beard from being too dry, it doesn’t snag on my hair, and it’s really good for reducing static too.

Features & Benefits Of The EQLEF Pocket Beard Comb

Like I said the EQLEF Beard Comb is one of my favorite, if not my number one pick for beard combs today. It has some really great features and benefits which make it as useful as any beard comb could ever be.

Let’s talk about some of these features quickly.

  • Double Sided

The EQLEF Beard Comb is double sided and comes with both standard teeth and fine teeth too.

This is really great because it means that this comb, when using the standard side, can be used for thick and coarse hair as well as getting rid of knots.

Plus it can easily be turned around to the finer side which is great for straight hair and for styling.

No matter what your beard looks and feels like, this comb will be able to bring you from cave man to business man in an instant; it sure did that for me!

  • A Good Size

The EQLEF measures in at 10 cm by 6 cm, making it a medium size comb. It’s big enough to get the job done without making a million passes, but it’s also small enough to fit in a travel bag for use abroad.

It fits nicely into my hands and thanks to its ideal size it is more than easy to use.

  • Sandalwood Make

I really like the fact that this particular model is made out of wood because that comes with a few benefits of its own.

Being made of wood means that it has the increased ability to spread around moisture and essential oils, especially when compared to plastic.

The wood design of the EQLEF is also really useful because it doesn’t cause or pick up static so my beard doesn’t get as frizzy as it usually would be.

The Sandalwood also has the ability to reduce snagging and pulling of hair.

Plus the soft wood is also really great for massaging the skin and reducing itchiness too.

  • Eco-Friendly

One of my favorite parts about this comb is that the Sandalwood that it is made of is completely natural and sustainable as well.

It’s much healthier for the environment than plastic because it is easily grown and doesn’t harm the environment like fossil fuels do.

This is definitely a model that I would recommend for anyone who doesn’t like my top pick.

It is slightly more expensive than the EQLEF, but it can be used for head hair as well as beard hair, something which the EQLEF can’t do.

It is ideal for fine hair and straight hair, plus for styling too.

However unlike the EQLEF this particular model is not double sided and is not ideal for thick or coarse hair.

The Rocky Mountain Hair Comb is made of solid wood, probably a bit more solid than the EQLEF and it comes in a nice gift box as well, not to mention that it won’t snag your hair and it won’t cause static either.

This is a boar bristle brush as opposed to a wooden brush like the EQLEF, which has both its benefits and drawbacks too.

Perhaps the biggest drawback to this brush is that it is fairly expensive, plus being a brush means that it is ideal for getting rid of knots and for smoothing out hair, but it isn’t really meant for styling.

On the other hand, this brush is fantastic because the boar bristles are very sturdy and aren’t prone to breaking off like wooden teeth are.

Also, the boar bristles are great for untangling knots as well as for spreading around moisture and essential oils; wood can do that too, but not nearly as well as a boar bristle brush.

The boar bristles are also fantastic for providing a nice massage and relieving itching too.

I would recommend this combination for anybody who isn’t quite sure what they want or need.

It is slightly more expensive than our other products, but it does include both a wooden beard comb and a boar bristle brush as well.

The beard and comb combination is ideal for relieving itching, massaging, spreading around moisture and of course it is ideal for both coarse, thick, and long beards as well as shorter and finer beards too. Together these products can get rid of knots and style your beard too. Also, the boar brush is fantastic for spreading around moisture, plus the comb is double sided just like our top pick. Perhaps the only drawback here is that it is quite a bit more expensive than my top pick or any of the other alternatives, then again it comes with a lot more too. Coming with more items does mean that the GrowABeard brush and comb set isn’t as portable for people on the go.

Conclusion

I’m happy to say that my beard has never looked better than right now, a large part of the reason being that I found myself the right beard comb.

I don’t look like a homeless guy anymore, and I’m sure you can rock a suit just as well as I can, that being if you can manage to tame that beard!

The EQLEF Pocket Beard Comb is probably the best all around choice for thick and coarse beards as well as thinner ones too. It doesn’t create static, and it won’t snag hair either.

The only thing to watch out for with the EQLEF comb are the brittle teeth, in which case you may also want to check out some of the alternatives I listed above.

Have fun and beard happy; excuse the pun!
